Easter Road Stadium Tour with Hibs legend Pat Stanton — Hibernian FC

About Hibernian FC and Easter Road

Hibernian were founded in 1875 by Irish immigrants living in Edinburgh's Cowgate — one of the poorest areas of the Victorian city. The club's name comes from the Latin for Ireland, and their green and white colours reflect their Irish heritage.

Hibs have a proud history. In 1955 they became the first British club to enter the European Cup, reaching the semi-finals with a side known as the Famous Five — one of the finest forward lines in Scottish football history. The club won the Scottish Cup in 2016 for the first time in 114 years, ending the longest wait for a major trophy in Scottish football history.

The stadium tour

The Easter Road stadium tour gives behind-the-scenes access to areas of the ground off-limits on match days — the home and away dressing rooms, the players' tunnel, the dugouts and pitchside, and the club's trophy and memorabilia collection.

Tours are led by knowledgeable guides with personal connections to the club. Tours run on non-match days and must be booked in advance.

How to get there

Easter Road Stadium is at 12 Albion Place, Edinburgh EH7 5QG, in the Leith area of the city.

  • On foot: Around 20–25 minutes from Princes Street
  • By bus: The 35 and 45 stop nearby — several services run along Easter Road from the city centre
  • By taxi: Around £7–10 from the city centre, 10 minutes

Combining Easter Road with Tynecastle

Both Edinburgh stadiums are worth visiting. Tynecastle Park — home of Hearts — is on the opposite side of the city in Gorgie, about 25 minutes by bus or 15 minutes by taxi from Easter Road. Doing both in one day is very achievable.
